Avoid unnecessary spam using 2 prong

Many websites today ask for a real
email address before allowing you to register with them.
Now, i dont say all these sites could send you spam, in fact, the
majority don’t. but if you happen to fall on the single one out site which does, erm,
well, believe me, it is not very pleasent in the end.

The most efficient trick i found to this date to prevent this from happening is as follows:

(1) Go to 2prong

(2) copy the email address at the top right of the page (it will normally be of type string@slashdiv.com)

(4)DO NOT close this, let your browser remain on this page and…

(5) Open a new tab/window (tab preffered)

(6)Go to the site @ which you need to register (note, this can be performed before step one, then opening a new tab for 2prong ;) )

(7) fill in the details, and in the email field paste the email you copied in (2).

Now, if the site sends you an email, the 2prong page (hey, you didnt close it, did you? D ) will be updated and yout message will appear in the box. you can then copy any important data from the mail, and if the site provides an option to edit your profile be sure to update your email address there. of course this is done only when you are sure the site is safe )

Cool chris! i use this too! )
some additions to what you said mate,

    (1) The address pages are bookmarkable.
Implying you can bookmark the page, close,
register to your site, then later opening the
    bookmark to check mail. )

    (2) its not just @slashdiv.com, they update this
regularly, else slashdiv.com or any other
domain they use would be banned )

    (3) the most funny part? The addresses can easily
be customised. look at the address bar when on
    prong2. it looks like this:

    http://2prong.com/?email=sthjewyric

and if you cut out the part after email= and add your nickname, for example

    http://2prong.com/?email=liokun

then guess what, the email address on the page would be (using the domain in your example)

    liokun@slashdiv.com

That is all i think ) lol (yeah, you are not alone, i too am an IT experimenter lol )
