Show your msn status on your site
This is an easy way to show your visitors your msn status. here is how to proceed.
You have to be online. add a new contact
msnbot9@bencastricum.nl
To your contact list. (dont worry, this is just the status monitor.) Open a conversation with the contact you just added (msnbot9@bencastricum.nl) and type:
!uid
A long code like this (ccfb48cc-00b7-4472-bc90-581e23f3be30) should show up.
*NOTE* If you are getting an error “uid is not available, contact not on FL contact list”
delete the bot you added and add a new bot. So if you added msnbot9@bencastricum.nl Change the 9 to a 7 (there are 30 bots in all) and repeat the last step.
Now go into your site template where you want to insert the status indicator, and enter the following:
<img title=”msn online indicator” alt=”msn status” src=”http://www.bencastricum.nl/msn/status.php/yourcode.png”/>
Now delete the “yourcode” part and replace it with the code you got from the bot before.
Voila, the hardest part is done. However, note that this code simply generates the MSN icon showing your status. you might thus want to style it (alignment, add some text etc…)
you can even make it an hyperlink by putting the image between
<a href=”msnim:chat?contact=your msn email address”> and </a>
so that users with msn messenger and the correct configs (Firefox) are able to chat with you

I am using bot 9 (the one i recomanded in the article. (You can try to shift by deleting the bot, waiting some tima then adding another one. you would then need re re !uid however.)

I’ve tried something i found elsewhere than where kyu told us. The hack i found didn’t worked with a bot you put in your contacts. And I didn’t manage to make it worked at all. But I can’t remember where I found that =|
