Harry Potter 7
Heh, it came sooner than i expected! 
So now the Long awaited moment has finally come, and soon our lives will be pending for a while while we digest The long awaited last instalment of Harry Potter. In the meantime i have got the time to think about some other theories about the book, namely the possible correlation between godric`s hollow and godric gryffindor among many others.
Some time ago, my friend the lost wanderer had lent me a fanfic to read. well, in the document the author had somehow made it clear that it was not the real book. The fanfic contained some good points but the core of the story was just crap (Lol @ Dudley the dark lord wannabe ^_^ ) It was entertaining, a bit at least
However, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows being the last instalment of the series, it could not be helped that the launch would be a very important and mediatised worldwide event. It has also caused some erm, well, surprising effects on some sections of the www.
There have been many rumors about the book, most notably are Gabriel the hacker who pretended euh, a very familiar character will die, and that Draco (Who, i remind you could not kill an agonising dumbledore) started creating horcruxes xD xD :P
Then people started sending loads and loads of fakes…
Difference between a fake and a fanfic: The fanfic clearly states it is one!
The most recent wave involves people sending photos (Which could or could not be) of the upcoming book With the ending clearly decipherable. What`s more, the NYT confirmed it was the real book (Although i seriously doubt so given the style of that book….

It is funny to see how those people seem to have so much time on their hands, and
how they are putting such a constant effort to ruin this book`s release…
On a more tragic note worst and saddest story… Could this get any worse until the few remaining hours? If this continues i think i will completely lose faith in the salvation of a certain portion of the humanity……… :s 
pfff…. i do hope tomorrow will be freed from all this BS…..

hey you guys got me rethinking my point of view now!
yup, its true that the fanfic can be considered better in many aspects. more action, less `camping`, a concrete answer about the veil and locked room @ dept. of mysteries…
Yet, the dudley thing is a big mistake IMO.
Also, the real book also has some very good points.
In overall, Leo`s idea of a combo is kinda good :yes: i`ll try to see if i`ve got time during hols
(My hols are pretty booked up, i have to take care of this blog, watch a whole bunch of animes, read twice the amount of manga, catch up with Leo on proggraming / scripting, haxx up my phone (even more than it already is that is 
) + i have to decide what to do next year…

haha quite agree with you for the fanfic, it is quite good. I also love the image of Remus and Tonks countering voldemort (SAD!!!
but, as good as the fanfic is, he failed to relate to the title `deathly hallows` (Which could have easily been done, say for eg the spirits behind the veil (since he had put some emphasis on it) could be the `deathly hallows`, )…
other than that and the whole dudley part, the story is near perfect imho… i thought it was crap at first, but on thinking again, t`is a nice work for a fanfic. (We should take kyu and zed`s old fanfic project, this fanfic, and the real book, make a giga mix and build our own ultimate HPDH, what do you say? ^_^ )

well, know what? i think its better than the book in many aspects…. at least imho.
Don`t get me wrong, i hate the whole dudley thing, (and the end is totally freaking LOL)but it was kinda ok,

Remus and Tonks, sure, they still die, but hell, that was a pretty cool way to die i must say (I kinda still see them blocking the path to let the others escape, so cool, and yet so sad
). not like what JKR did, hell, she didn`t show us a damn thing!
and i might add that this guy/girl has got it right on quite a few occasions. (snitch, last horcrux in ROR, scrimgeour dies…)
The fanfic also addresses what IMHO is one of the greatest flaws of the real book, that is the whole Occlumency/legilimency thing. it was as if voldemort had suddenly forgotten that harry could see in his mind, and that he could do the same… while in the fanfic it is clearly addressed that harry has a protection, plus till the last moment he hasn`t got a clue about his final move ^_^
And at least harry did one hell of a final move (Not just expelliarmus…) The combo with the snitch-dehorcruxification, wow, just genius, and it seems logically correct too
making a long comment short, i think i prefer that fanfic to the `real` book in MANY aspects, for eg. it also provides a better `finish` (lol!!!) for the whole story, despite its flaws (No its not `perfect` either, but no last book could be imho)…

plus i reckon she could have stuffed the arsenal of spells known to harry, no new spells for him… (haha ah wai, he used crucio and imperio, why had he not completed the trio vs voldemort?

Enfin, un peu baclé if you ask me, found plenty of plotholes and strange things… It was not BAD, in parts where there was action it was even very good, but it could have been MUCH better if she took more time to think through it well. they`re not HUGE mistakes, but there`s too much of little things which make the book kind of an unfinished product. Perso, in the middle of it i thought it was a fanfic….
